IVED is one of the oldest and most prestigious competitions in the Indonesian debating circuit, having been widely regarded as one of the three esteemed classics alongside JOVED and ALSA UI. For decades, it has served as an important proving ground for the community’s bright and brightest, and possession of the coveted trophy remains one of the greatest honors a debater could have on their resume.

Much of the traditional barriers associated with attending IVED has been done away with. The logistical costs of travel and lodging for participants are gone, now that they may debate from the comfort of their own homes. Registration can be made much cheaper, now that committees do not need to shoulder the burden of venue and accommodation costs. We move now to an era where access to IVED is more readily available than ever before, and we are ready to seize this momentum.

The organizing committee is striving to make this IVED the cheapest and most accessible IVED yet, without sacrificing due diligence to necessary amenities and remunerations to contributing parties. At just Rp175.000 per person, and a whole bevy of discounts and scholarship options available for parties to whom they might be useful, we are confident that the gift of critical thinking will be in plentiful supply this coming January.

There are two separate scholarships that will be made available to IVED 2021 participants: the Council Scholarship, and the Derril Pramana Memorial Scholarship.

The council scholarship is open to participants who have not joined the last few editions of JOVED and IVED, starting with JOVED 2018. More details at the provided link.

The Derril Pramana Memorial Scholarship is open to all participants who are facing financial difficulties in registering for IVED. It is awarded to individuals (as opposed to teams) and does not carry specific requirements for its applicants beyond financial difficulty.

Awardees of either scholarship will receive a full registration fee waiver for IVED 2021.
